What If

What if god were a debt collector

You rack up you bill

With each prayer you may kill

Or add to a debt

That could never be met?

What if life is a bank account

A bank you never see

But when you ask for more you agree

To pay this entity of power

Lest at the end you cower?

What if when your tab is up

You pay for every sip you sup?

Or you pay again to play?

What if every unspoken word you say

Leads you to a life never to lay?
