Early mornings emerge
From dark to light diverge.
Waking to discomfort and aching,
Aware of the life I’m making.

Taking each turn in stride,
For that which I cannot hide.
Work to get by
Try not to cry.

Hide in plain sight,
Occasional delight,
Despite the plight I fight.

Knowing the outcome is new,
Becoming one of few.
So I get through.

I use verse to get away
Try and pass another day.
Nights of lights.
No more fights.

Just swing along,
No place to belong.

A world apart,
Aching heart.
Beating heart.
So close now.
